A Brief History
Established in 1946, Shree Laxmi Iron & Steel Works Pvt. Ltd. is a legacy-driven organization based in Liluah, Howrah, strategically located near Kolkata and the Calcutta Port. Under the visionary leadership of its Founder, Late Shri S.N. Rungta, the company began its journey with the rolling of commercial steel sections.

Over time, the company expanded into specialized profile sections—products that were once exclusively manufactured by major steel giants. In 1952, Shree Laxmi achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first private sector company in India to manufacture Fish Plates, setting a benchmark in the railway components industry. It also emerged as one of the early exporters of Fish Plates from India.

With decades of expertise, the company has developed strong capabilities in manufacturing a comprehensive range of railway track fittings and steel components, including Fish Plates, Bearing Plates, Base Plates, Sole Plates, Elastic Rail Clips (Pandrol Clips), U-Clips, K-Clips, Bolts & Nuts, Rail Screws, Dog Spikes, and various forging and fabricated items. Additionally, it produces wagon components and P&T infrastructure items, catering to both domestic and international requirements.

An ISO 9001 certified company and approved by RDSO, Lucknow, Shree Laxmi is committed to delivering products that meet stringent quality standards and specifications of Indian Railways as well as global clients. With a focus on precision engineering, quality control, and timely delivery, the company has built long-standing relationships across markets.
